Judging a Cheese by its Cover
This one day workshop is Cheese 101 for wannabee cheese experts. Learn how to identify the 7 main types of cheese and discover that, unlike wine, the character of a cheese can be judged by a glance at its rind or cover and an occasional squeeze.

Cheese & Wine Matching
Unravel the myths & misconceptions behind the world of cheese & wine.  What works and what makes your palates cringe. More than just a wine tasting with cheese it will enable you to understand cheese and be able to select the ones you love like you do with wine. Educational, inspirational and fun.

Speed Dating
One of the most popular sessions since I created it for the Great British Cheese Festival. It’s fast paced tasting where you can taste a range of familiar and not so familiar cheese & an eclectic mix of drinks to find the perfect, and not so perfect partners.

Fermented Friends
Cheese, bread, cider & beer all undergo fermentation to create their unique character. With so many excellent micro-breweries and cider makers popping up all over the place why not come and try some. Learn a little of the science behind them and a lot about how they come together with all your favourite cheese types.

Horizontal & Vertical Tasting
You’ve probably done a HORIZONTAL wine tastings – where you taste different wines from the same grape and vintage and VERTICAL tastings where you taste the same wine at different ages but have you ever tried it with cheese! One of my favourite tastings it’s the best way to really learn about NZ cheese.

Great European Classics
The great European classics can trace their origins back 800 or 900 years. Their recipes handed down from generation to generation through families, monasteries and villages. Little has changed in their making since their creation and all modern cheeses are based on these recipes.

New World Old World
The majority of New Zealand cheeses are sold in supermarkets and the artisan cheeses are often rarely found outside their region. So this is a chance to taste some of these superb cheeses and some made by the bigger producers and see how well they stand up to their European equivalent.

Singing the Blues
Stilton is the most popular British, Gorgonzola the favourite in Italy and Roquefort has been made since the Romans conquered the French. How do they compare with NZ blues and how do you determine the good from the too salty, very sweaty and soapy? This is the definitive blue cheese tasting with some excellent wines. Join me - it’s time to expand your repertoire.

The possibilities are endless...

Here are some other tastings I have done in the past - the combinations are limited only by your imagination so choose from the above or click here to PIMP YOUR OWN CHEESE CLASS .
