MEET YOUR MAKER

Tuesday 13th February 2018
6.00 - 7.30pm
$55 includes cheese and wine
79 Black Barn Rd, Havelock North [map]

These tastings are designed to introduce you to the artisan cheeses of New Zealand and where possible the cheesemakers.  It’s a chance to hear the stories behind the cheeses, what makes them unique and what inspired the cheesemakers to make them along with a glass or 2 of excellent Hawkes Bay wine.
This month we meet 3 cheesemakers from the fertile farmland of the Wairarapa.  The Goodmans’ from The Drunken Nanny risen to fame on Country Calendar; Miles & Janet King from Kingsmeade who, in 1998, became one of the first cheesemakers in NZ to create ewes milk cheese and Cwmglyn [coom glin!!] a superb cheese made by Biddy Fraser with raw milk from the cows Dizzy, Lily, Patsy and Isobel.
Plus you'll discover the gentle art of bringing up cheeses, the etiquette of cutting cheese and how to create the perfect cheeseboard.  There are only 18 places available so grab a friend and book now.

Friday Cheese Nights

A Horizontal & Vertical Tasting

Friday 2nd March 2018
6.00 - 7.30pm
$55 includes cheese and wine
79 Black Barn Rd, Havelock North

On the first Friday of [almost] every month I will host a Cheese Tasting to introduce you to artisan cheeses from near and far.  Matching them with wines, beers and ciders, comparing the good, the not so good and the occasional Oscar winning little star!  You will learn to judge a cheese by its cover, identify a brie from a not so Brie and a Goat from your buffalo ... They are fun, informative and inspirational. For the expert and the beginner.  Just come with a hunger in your tummy and a love of good food.    And it's a great way to end the week and start the weekend the way you mean to go on.  Maximum 24 people so don't leave it too long.
