What you can expect
Taste your way through the stunning landscape of Hawke’s Bay with its beautifully preserved Art Deco buildings, rugged beaches and swans gliding the wetlands, glimpses of Cape Kidnappers [weather permitting and it usually is!] and the Tukituki river. Famous for its wines and apples Hawke's Bay also has a thriving cottage industry of produce our chefs love to use in their dishes. After visiting a couple of wineries chosen from over 25 in the area for their exceptional wines and or location and maybe a cider maker, you can taste fig ice cream at The Figgery, olives and oil at Telegraph Hill, make a quick detour to the legendary Y’a Bon Bakery [time permitting] or Jacksons, Havelock’s favourite pie shop [the best!] and dive into the Strawberry Patch for fruit and vegetables before heading to Juliet’s home for an amazing lunch.
Naturally the main feature of the lunch is NZ artisan cheese and award winning local wines, beer and what we have gathered plus chutneys, local charcuterie and the current season’s fruit and produce finished off with a NZ classic – afghan or Anzac biscuits! After lunch you will visit a very different winery before being dropped at your hotel.
Whatever your age [over 18], shape or style the tour is designed to entertain, inspire and educate you and give you a unique insight into Hawke’s Bay and New Zealand’s culinary world.
