Britain's Biggest Cheese Festival

at Cardiff Castle!

CARDIFF CASTLE became the new and permanent home to the Great British Cheese Festival in 2008, under the stewardship of Cardiff Council,  and it is hard to imagine a more dramatic setting.

Against a backdrop of some of the most impressive modern architecture in Europe it retains  its unique character and charm and continues to be the FOCAL POINT of the cheese calendar for cheese makers, buyers and foodies from around the world.

The Festival also features a TRADE DAY held on the Friday afternoon before the FESTIVAL followed by the announcment on Friday night of the BRITISH CHEESE AWARDS at a gala dinner.  

BRITAIN’S BIGGEST CHEESE MARKET dominates the FESTIVAL with over 450 cheeses from across the British Isles plus visitors can enjoy an extraordinary diversity of food and drink in the other markets. 

  

Alongside the markets are the COOK & BOOK SHOP and the CARDIFF ARMS, serving real ale, Perry, cider and English Wine ensuring there is something to suit everyones palate.
