JUDGING ON THE TRADE DAY
Friday 26th September Blenheim Palace
Judging takes place from 0930 - 1400 and is sponsored by A McLelland & Sons.
Last year in Chipping Campden Town Hall, it took 5 hours to judge the 759 entries from 153 British and Irish Cheesemakers.
Despite the very warm conditions the very best came to the fore with 226 medals awarded. The most amazing result however was Innes Button, which became the first cheese ever to win Supreme Champion twice. Once in 1994 and again in 2002. Congratulations.
NB. This year the judging will be in a special, cool, spacious marquee.
The Judging Panel
Thanks to McClellands' sponsorship, the judges have been looked after exceedingly well in the last 4 years ensuring we attract the very best of Britains food writers, chefs, graders or retailers. We also receive a numerous letters and emails from all around the world with offers to judge.
It is very encouraging to know so many people want to be involved however it takes more than just enthusiasm and passion to gain one of the 65 much coveted places on the panel.
